Properties of Functions

This chapter reviews functions of one variable and how to build new functions from existing ones. You’ll also recall inverse functions, which reverse the effect of the original function. Finally, the chapter concludes with the general concept of a function—a core idea in mathematics and a powerful tool in economics. Understanding how functions behave and relate to each other is essential for analyzing economic relationships and developing models in Econometrics and Operations Research or Econometrics and Data Science.

This section is based on Chapter 5 of Essential Mathematics for Economic Analysis.
